Sports are and always will be SO exciting. Running out of the tunnel or onto the field, fans cheering, the life of being an athlete, being proud of your hard work, working towards something. Good news, that level of excitement (and success) doesn’t have to be limited to just sports!

Why settle for “just okay” ?

  • Or not sure what your next dream was going to be?

  • Do you feel like you’re just “settling” for things in life?

  • Feel like you’re just doing what everyone else does?

  • Or maybe, you’re just unclear who you really are without sports, or what your purpose is in this life now?

What are you settling for in life right now?

  • Mastery > Performance

"How you do anything is how you do everything." I remember hearing this so often as an athlete. But what does this really mean?

When you approach doing anything in life, you can choose to do so with a mastery orientation OR a performance orientation. As athletes, so much of what we do is about performance, the end result. A performance orientation means you care solely about outcomes, and therefore a lot of comparison, judgement, and trying to 'look good' exists. How is the performance orientation serving you today?

A mastery orientation means you care more about what you are doing than the outcome. There's a desire to continually develop into the best you can be. What's interesting is that if you focus less on results, you tend to get better results.

Together, we'll explore what mastery orientation means for YOU. When you have nothing to lose, how much better do you perform?

  • Community & Friendship

I am curious, how do you make new friends?

I, for the longest time, was never able to answer this. I'd say, "I have no clue! I've always had really close friends through sports." A sports team / organization provides an immediate community of brothers and sisters who share common interests and work towards a common goal. Is this limited to just sports?

How important is a community like this in your life?

To be clear, a coach is NOT a friend. However, in coaching we'll talk through the process of making new friends, of surrounding yourself in a community / communities that build you up. There's often many internal blocks that get in our way of making new friends. What would be different in your life if you had a group of people to lean on, and that made you better each day?
